The Scandinavian Association
The Scandinavian Association is a non-profit organization and is run by Scandinavian and Brazilian volunteers living in Rio. We have members from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, but also several Brazilians. Our members and participants on our events are company leaders, entrepreneurs, students, housewives, seniors, i.e. a broad spectrum of people.

The support we have received from our sponsors has been crucial for keeping our activities at a high standard. Quality has its cost, and it is a real challenge to keep the price for the activities at a reasonable level.

We were founded in 1947 as the Swedish Association. In 2001 all of the Nordic countries were included with the purpose of celebrating common Scandinavian traditions, like Midsummer, Crayfish season and Christmas together.

A key objective is always to stimulate cultural exchange between the Scandinavian and Brazilian cultures. We can also act as a bridge for those who want to increase their social and/or professional Scandinavian/Brazilian network.
