Welcome to the Scandinavian Association
in Rio de Janeiro

The Scandinavian Association is a non-profit organization and is run by Scandinavian and Brazilian volunteers living in Rio. We have members from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, but also several members from Brazil (and other countries as well) which have a connection to the Nordic countries in one way or another. Our members and other participants on our events represent a broad spectrum of people, e.g. company leaders, entrepreneurs, students, housewives, seniors, etc.

We were founded in 1947 as the Swedish Association. In 2001 all of the Nordic countries were included with the purpose of celebrating together, common traditions like Midsummer/St Hans, Crayfish season and Christmas. To stimulate the cultural exchange between the Scandinavian and Brazilian cultures is as well, one of our key objectives.

On our site you can stay updated about our events and activities and get useful information about living in "Cidade Maravilhosa". Enjoy your stay and don't hesitate if you have ideas or suggestions to us or, if you want to join us in the voluntary work of building a living Scandinavian community here in Rio!

CRAYFISH PARTY at Clube Fazenda Maripendi, Saturday September 15 20:00

We offer:

20:00 - 21:00 Cocktail

21:00 - 22:30 A LOT OF CRAYFISH prepared of us after an old classic Swedish recipe, salmon with mustard sauce, pickled herring and potato, cheeses, bread, rye crisp bread, etc. Beverages: Beer, Aquavit, Caipirinha, Coke/juice/water.

22:30 - 02:00 Coffee & Liqueur and Dessert
